Petite America Pageant In Downtown Waterbury, Saturday, August 6th

Waterbury firefighter Bill D'Occhio, and fellow firemen from Truck #3, met with the Petite contestants during the lady's whirlwind tour of the city.

  For the second year in a row Waterbury is host to a pageant that celebrates petite women in America. Contestants from as far away as California have been in the Brass City the past few days touring City Hall, visiting with veterans, touring Doc's Motorcycle Shop and mingling with Waterbury firefighters.

   Petite America Pageants was created to honor the accomplishments of women 5'6" (5 feet 6 inches) and under while celebrating their beauty, intelligence and community involvement. The contestants are vying for a variety of titles including Teen, Ms. Woman, Mrs. Woman, Mrs. Lady, Lady and Classic divisions.

   The pageant will be staged tonight, August 6th, at the Marriott Downtown Waterbury, beginning at 7 pm. Tickets are $20

A contestant from New York is in Waterbury to compete for the Classic title.

   Kimberly White-Geremia is the executive director of the pageant. She is a trained actress that has performed in Connecticut in lead roles such as Adelaide of Guys and Dolls at the Seven Angels Theatre and in many regional theatre productions such as The King and I, The Sailing of The Bonnie Anne and Hello Dolly to name a few.  She most recently studied in New York with famed acting coach, Tonya Berizen and toured New England as a lead vocalist with the girl group The Glamour Girls.
 

   Kimberly lives in Morris, Connecticut. with her husband David and daughter Delilah - the newest Miss Connecticut's Diamond Chip.
