   Step back in time to the 1860’s, hear the sounds of battle, the roar of cannons
as Union and Confederate troops clash again. Building on two successful events, the 2nd Connecticut Heavy Artillery and the Western Connecticut Convention and Visitors Bureau will once again host a Civil War-Living History event August 13-14th, 2011 at Three Rivers Park, Woodbury, CT. Experience life as it was during “The War Between the States”.

   Stroll through the military camps and the civilian town of Unity.

   · Speak with reenactors as they drill and go about their day
you may encounter some well known personalities with your visit.

   · Spend time with well versed speakers and authors, listen to music of the period,
Explore Sutlers Row and 19th century goods for sale, and enjoy a treat from food vendors.

   · Take part in a scavenger hunt where the whole family can learn about the American Civil War.

   · Special Demonstrations throughout the weekend include:

   Artillery firing- * Help make History come alive…Sponsor a cannon

   Battlefield Medicine and surgery

   Period toys and games

   Military drills

   Admission: Adults- $10, Students/Seniors-$5, Child 5 to 10yrs- $4 Under 5 yrs- Free.
*Free parking and shuttle buses from Mitchell School, School St, Woodbury. Handicap parking is available. Gates Open 8:30 am
