Matthew Fazo, Thomaston Savings Bank, was recognized at a recent ceremony for being selected as a New Leader in Banking.

Thomaston Savings Bank is proud to congratulate Matthew Fazo, Project Manager – Risk Management, on being named a New Leader in Banking at BankWorld 2019. A ceremony was held at Mohegan Sun Resort and Casino on Thursday, January 17, 2019 to honor this year’s recipients.

The Connecticut Bankers Association and Connecticut Banking magazine asked bankers throughout Connecticut to nominate individuals they believe were rising stars in the banking industry. Nominees must be working at a bank in Connecticut, be 50 years of age or younger, and be making a significant contribution to their institution or community. Many nominations were received, which were vetted by an independent panel of judges.

Matthew joined Thomaston Savings Bank in July of 2013 as a Teller. He quickly grew within the organization, advancing to a Teller/Customer Service Consultant, a Retail Banking Generalist, and then to Data Analyst for both the Retail and Finance Departments. In September of 2018, Mr. Fazo joined the Risk Management Department as a Project Manager. In his current role, Matthew is responsible for defining the scope of bank projects, ensuring project owners are accountable and on deadline, and regularly delivering a clear and accurate project status.

“I am honored to have been selected as a New Leader in Banking. I am grateful to work in a supportive environment that offers ongoing opportunities to make an impact and share in the Bank’s success and growth.”
