Fundraising during Uncertain times

Fundraising over the last year and a half has looked a little different and many organizations have struggled with how to raise funds when in-person gatherings aren’t the safest. StayWell Health Center annually hosts the Summer’s End Fete which is designed to highlight local healthcare champions and raise much needed funds for the health center.  After careful consideration, the decision was made to cancel the 2021 Summer’s End Fete.

“The decision to cancel the Summer’s End Fete was certainly not an easy one” said Don Thompson, CEO.  “As a healthcare organization, we couldn’t risk holding a large gathering where there is an increased potential of spreading Covid-19, especially with numbers in the city. We chose to be cautious and lead by example.”

In lieu of an in-person gathering, StayWell has decided to hold an online raffle from now until October 15th. StayWell will hold a Live event through their Facebook page to announce the winners. Items Include:

  • Hawk Ridge Winery- Tasting for 2
  • 4 Tickets to the Hartford Yard Goats 2022 Season
  • 4 Tickets to the Hartford Wolf Pack 2021-2022 Season
  • 4 Tickets to the Bridgeport Islanders 2021-2022 Season
  • 4 Tickets to the Wadsworth Museum
  • 4 Flex-Tickets to the Thomaston Opera House
  • Two $25 gift cards to Chipotle Mexican Grill

Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased online through the StayWell website.

While the StayWell event has been canceled, people can still enjoy attending activities such as the ones being offered.  Taking precautions to reduce the risk of contracting the virus and being social is possible.  Christine Bianchi, Chief Development Officer, reminds us that the winners of the raffled tickets can choose to wear masks, social distance and attend in their small group that doesn’t invite new exposure.
