StayWell Health Center is excited to announce that we are now accepting patients into our new Adult Co-occurring Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) located at 1309 South Street in Waterbury. This program runs on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings from 9am until 12pm. Overseeing this program is Jackie Davis LCSW, LADC, our Assistant Director of Behavioral Health.

The Adult Co-occurring IOP at StayWell Health Center provides a highly structured, individualized level of care that bridges between inpatient and outpatient co-occurring services for adults. Our IOP provides three hours of group therapy, three days per week for both men and women in a small group setting with no more than 12 people per group. This program is available for both English and Spanish speaking patients.

“I like the structure of coming here three times a week, it helps me to stick to a schedule,” said one patient of the program.

This program is designed to assist adults in attaining their goals during treatment with the help of the IOP Treatment Team. Our team members will help patients increase self-efficacy, communications skills and emotional regulation as well as support the development of coping, mindfulness and stress management skills. The program will also help to increase their ability to manage and cope with substance use and/or psychiatric, behavioral and emotional symptoms. Team members will provide medication management and MAT (Medication Assisted Treatment) using Vivitrol as needed. Our team also provides individualized Case Management services for both English and Spanish speaking patients.

“It is not as bad as I thought. Everybody is really nice.” Said another patient of StayWell IOP.

IOP welcomes all genders and requires that patients be 18 years or older to participate. StayWell accepts Medicaid, Self-pay and some Private Insurances.

Upon completing the StayWell IOP, clients will be provided with the opportunity to transition into the StayWell Outpatient Behavioral Health Treatment Program or be referred back to their referring provider.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the StayWell Behavioral Health Department is admitting new patients through TeleTherapy services. Patients can request an audio only call or an audio-visual appointment through the StarLeaf platform. For more information or to make a referral, call 203-597-9044 and choose option 5.
