Post University has announced three new hires to its programmatic leadership team: Kimberly Nerud, Ph.D. director of nursing education, Laura J. Albee, program chair of the University Pathways Program (UPP), and Chad McGuire, associate director of the High School Academy.
“We are excited to welcome Kimberly, Laura and Chad to our university,” said Post University President and CEO John L. Hopkins. “All three bring a wealth of knowledge and experiences and are perfect additions to our stellar team of leaders.”
In her new role as director of nursing, Kimberly Nerud, Ph.D. will be responsible for growing and developing the online nursing program. Dr. Nerud comes to Post University with 16 years of experience as a nursing educator for various universities. In her most recent role, she served as academic director of the RN-BSN program at the University of South Dakota. She received her doctoral degree in nursing with a focus on rural healthcare, critical care, community health, and nursing education from South Dakota State University.
Laura J. Albee will be responsible for overseeing the University Pathways Program (UPP), a Post University collaboration with EdAdvance of Connecticut. The program provides post-secondary academic, social, and vocational opportunities for students who have met their high school graduation requirements but need additional support with their Individualized Education Plan (IEP) goals. Prior to coming to Post University, she served as the district-wide behavior analyst for the Torrington Public School system. Albee received her Master of Arts in Special Education from the University of Saint Joseph and a Master of Social Work from Southern Connecticut State University. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Social Work from Southern Connecticut State University. Albee has published several articles in Autism Spectrum News on topics pertaining to autism and sexuality as well as the impact of behavioral health in public education.
In his new role as associate director of the High School Academy, Chad McGuire will be responsible for expanding the program as well as adding new high school partnerships. McGuire brings 20 years of experience in student counseling and advising in higher education and secondary education. Most recently, he served as the school counselor at Easthampton High School in East Hampton, MA. Chad received his bachelor’s degree in communication from Westfield State College, and his Master of Science in Counselor Education from Central Connecticut State University.
