During a recent PAL Board of Directors meeting, Cathy Smith of Middlebury, president of the Elisha Leavenworth Foundation, presented a generous check to the Waterbury Police Activity League President and Chief of Police Fernando Spagnolo to support PAL and the mission to serve the youth in the Greater Waterbury Community.

The mission of the Elisha Leavenworth Foundation is to provide for the personal and social welfare of youths in the City of Waterbury and its environs (including education, recreation, and cultural enrichment); and to support other charitable and benevolent work.

This contribution will allow PAL to purchase a truck to transport the PAL food trailer to various community events. Attending more community events will greatly advance the PAL Culinary program which is supported in partnership with the Northwest Regional Workforce Investment Board (NRWIB). The overwhelmingly success of the Waterbury PAL could not be possible without this type generous financial support and key partnerships with local businesses, community members and private organizations.
