The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams
Directed by Donato J. D’Albis

The Glass Menagerie is, as the main character Tom says, a memory play. The play takes place in St. Louis, Missouri, where Tom works in a shoe factory dreaming of having a life of adventure like those he sees in the movies. His mother, Amanda, is concerned about finding a ‘beau’ for his emotionally crippled sister, whose only focus is on her glass animal collection. When he finally brings a friend home for dinner, we see their dreams and nightmares collide. It is a story of longing and the desire to have a better life while trapped by the bonds of the past.
