Naugatuck Valley Community College and the United Way of Greater Waterbury are sponsoring a series of free financial literacy workshops over the coming months. The series is held in cooperation with the Connecticut Association for Human Services. The times and topics of the workshops are as follows:
· Money Matters – Tips for budgets, spending wisely and making and saving money
Tuesday, Feb. 23, 3:00-4:30 pm or Wednesday, Feb. 24, 7:00-8:30 pm
· Borrowing Basics – Understanding credit and loans
Tuesday, March 8, 3:00-4:30 pm or Wednesday, March 9, 7:00-8:30 pm
· Consumer Contracts – Rental contracts, leasing and knowing your rights
Monday, April 4, 3:00-4:30 pm or Wednesday, April 6, 7:00-8:30 pm
All workshops are free and open to the public, though online registration is requested at nv.edu/money. The series will be hosted on the NVCC campus at 750 Chase Parkway in Waterbury in Room L501 of the Traurig Learning Resources Center/Library building. Light refreshments will be served.
