Elizabeth Richard, Inc.  is throwing open its door at its new location in Woodbury this Saturday, August 15 at 9:00 am. The long anticipated opening of the shop in the Barclay Square  plaza at 20 Sherman Hill Road is the result of the relocation of the business from its previous location in Waterbury.
Formerly known as Elizabeth Richard Gifts the original shop closed in April, after seven successful years when one of the original partners decided to retire. The remaining partner and the face of the business, Lori Greene, decided it was the right time to relocate and settled on the Woodbury space. “I fell in love with the Woodbury location and plaza owner Ken Devino has been very accommodating retrofitting the space to our needs”, stated Greene. “This shop is very different from the first one. It is light-filled with an eclectic, modern look and feel”.   The clever wall of recycled doors used to display a grouping of ladies handbags and artfully painted ladders and cleverly draped mannequins (the scarf tutu is a must see!), should delight shoppers. The opening on Saturday is considered a soft opening. Several bigger events are planned after Labor Day to celebrate the new venture in style. Joining Greene as a partner in the new business is her husband Arthur, who left his career as a teacher to join Lori and help expand their shared vision. Elizabeth Richard Gifts & more for living exceptionally, has developed as a lifestyle brand known for its fine selection of giftware, china, flatware, kitchen tools and equipment for the discerning home chef, decorative table top, jewelry, boutique accessories, bath and body products, gourmet foods and Fascia’s Chocolates, as well as gifts and special occasion clothing for baby and toddlers, an extensive selection of greeting cards, collectibles and a bridal registry. Vietri, Vera Bradley, Mariposa and John Madeiros, are among the brands shoppers will find . Elizabeth Richard will be open seven days a week: Monday – Friday, 9:00 am – 6:00pm, Saturday 9:00 am – 4:00pm and Sunday 11:00 am – 3:00 pm.
In addition to being a shopkeeper, Lori Greene has emerged as an arbiter of good taste and style for her witty advice on living a gracious life and entertaining with style, through her radio show on WATR 1320, appearances on WTNH TV’s CT Style program, her blog and video blog on You Tube.
