The Board of Directors of Literacy Volunteers of Greater Waterbury will present their annual Wine Dinner and Auction fundraiser on Friday, April 25 at 6:00 p.m. at the Aqua Turf in Plantsville. This year’s theme is “Wines of the World” and guests will sample and savor a collection of wines from golf legend Greg Norman’s Estates, and also enjoy hors d’oeuvres, dinner and dessert.
Chris Berman of ESPN will serve as the Master of Ceremonies. The evening will also feature a musical performance by the Paul Gabriel Quartet, and both a Live and Silent Auction. Sharon Mansfield of Ion Bank and Joselyn Jimenez will be honored for their commitment to literacy in our community. Founded in 1974 and celebrating 40 years of service in our community, the mission of Literacy Volunteers is to teach adults to read, write, speak, and understand English so that they may achieve personal, educational, employment, and civic goals.
