Did you know that this year is the Litchfield Law School’s 240th anniversary? In honor of this milestone, we are going to celebrate the birthday of Judge Tapping Reeve’s first law school student: Aaron Burr.

On Thursday, February 6 at 3:30 pm, kids ages 8 and up are welcome to join in the party at the Tapping Reeve House and Law School. Before Aaron Burr became vice president of the United States or infamous for his fateful duel with Alexander Hamilton, he came to Litchfield to study the law under his brother-in-law, the lawyer Tapping Reeve.

We will participate in a fun scavenger hunt around the first law school in the country; learn exciting facts in an Aaron Burr trivia game; and, of course, have birthday cake!

This event is $5 for members and $7 for non-members. Registration is required. To register for this event, please call (860) 567-4501 or email registration@litchfieldhistoricalsociety.org.

The Tapping Reeve House and Law School is located at 82 South St., Litchfield, CT. For more information about this or other programs, please call (860) 567-4501 or see www.litchfieldhistoricalsociety.org.
