The Alliance Française of Northwestern Connecticut (AFNWCT) is offering Beginning and Intermediate French classes for adults in Southbury.
The Intermediate class meets five Wednesdays from 10:30 to noon, starting January 29.
The Beginners’ class meets five Mondays from 10:30 to noon, starting January 27. (No class Feb. 17)

The Alliance Française will also sponsor its annual “Concours,” an essay-writing competition for public school and private school French language students, ages 12 to 18. It will be held Monday, February 24, at 3:45 p.m. at Shepaug Valley School, 159 South Street, Washington, CT. Participants may bring a paperback French/English dictionary with them.
As many as eight cash prizes, each ranging from $50 to $200, will be awarded to the winning essayists at Levels I, II, III, and IV. Awards will be presented at the Annual Meeting of the Alliance Française April 26, 2014.
