What do Food Network Cupcake Wars and Tony Orlando have in common?  Hardcore Sweet Cupcakes!  On December 2, Tony Orlando makes a special guest appearance on behalf of Dora’s Hope at the Southbury Crown Plaza. As a tribute to Tony, Hardcore Sweet Cupcakes will be presenting a surprise oak tree cupcake display, (a reference to lyrics “tie a yellow ribbon round the old oak tree”) to honor Tony’s commitment to military veterans and to thank him for his continuing support of Dora’s Hope.

The mission of Dora’s Hope is to educate the public concerning Medicaid’s limited options for long term health care under the current Medicaid system, create reformative legislation and organize and support a grass roots campaign to achieve Choice Centered Medicaid.

For the last 20 years, Mr. Orlando hosts a “Yellow Ribbon Salute to Veterans” on Veterans Day in his hometown of Branson, Missouri. A show highlight is the presentation of the Yellow Ribbon Medal of Freedom to an exceptional American who has elevated veteran issues. The gold record ‘Tie a Yellow Ribbon’ was donated by Tony Orlando to the POW wing of the Nixon Library to share with all visitors.
