Gift of Adoption, a national charitable organization providing financial assistance to complete both domestic and international adoptions, today announces the appointment of a new leader to its national board of governors. Waterbury resident, Molly Parker, joins the Gift of Adoption national leadership team and will play an integral role in helping Gift of Adoption grow its ability to unite more children with forever families.

“Our goal at Gift of Adoption is to increase the number of children adopted each year by providing the final funding needed to complete the adoption of vulnerable children.” says Pam Devereux, Gift of Adoption CEO. “We are thrilled to welcome Ms. Parker to our leadership team and know she’ll be a vital addition to the board.”

Gift of Adoption awards grants of up to $7,500 to provide families – regardless of race, religion, age or marital status – the financial support needed to bring their children home. Over the past ten years, Gift of Adoption has awarded more than $3.3 million in adoption assistance grants to unite more than 1,100 children with qualified families across the U.S. The organization prioritizes grants for those adopting the most vulnerable children facing what is likely their last or only chance at adoption. This includes families who are working to unite or keep siblings together and those adopting children withcritical medical conditions or kids aging out of orphanages.

An adoptee with extensive experience working on a variety of nonprofit development committees and boards, Ms. Parker is committed to putting adoption in reach for more children in need. As part of the Gift of Adoption national leadership team, she will help the organization expand its national reach and help launch regional chapters across the East Coast. The goal of the regional chapters is to assist with raising funds to support local adoptiongrants and raise awareness on Gift of Adoption across the U.S.

“Through Gift of Adoption we can help eliminate the financial barriers that prevent would-be parents from stepping forward to adopt,” says Gift of Adoption National Board Member, Molly Parker. “I am delighted to join the Gift of Adoption national board of governors and look forward to helping to unite more kids in need with a loving family and safe and nurturing home.”
