Waterbury PD are actively searching for Philip Grundy.

   Waterbury Police have obtained an arrest warrant charging Philip Grundy (7/12/74) of 18 James Street 2nd floor, Waterbury, with Murder and Assault 1st for the fatal stabbing of one male and the serious stabbing of another male last night in the area of 23 James Street.

   Police were dispatched to the area of 23 James Street at 6:00 pm on Monday in response to a fight in the street. The investigation determined that Grundy was involved in a fight with two men during which he stabbed one man in the lower back and then stabbed the second man in the chest. One victim suffered non-life threatening injuries, but the second victim with the chest wound was rushed by ambulance to St. Mary’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

   It appears that the fight stemmed from an earlier dispute between one of the victim’s girlfriends and Grundy’s girlfriend. Grundy fled prior to police arrival and police are currently searching for him. Anyone with information about Grundy’s whereabouts is asked to call the Waterbury Police immediately. 

   The victim from last night’s murder has positively been identified as Brandon Feliciano (8/27/96) of Meriden and the victim with non-life threatening injuries is Jeffrey Gomez (1/10/80) of Waterbury. Gomez remains in stable condition. It appears that the fight stemmed from an earlier dispute between Gomez’s girlfriend and the suspect’s girlfriend. The search continues for the suspect, Philip Grundy, who is wanted for Murder and Assault 1st.
