The trendy and sought-after Mini Cooper is this year’s annual fund raising raffle car at the Kent Memorial Library. The car has John Cooper Works 17 inch wheels and body kit. It is a “BMW” certified pre-owned car and comes with a bumper-to-bumper warranty to 100,000 miles, which is transferable to the new owner/winner.

Raffle tickets are being sold in the library and during the annual Library Book Sale and at multiple venues around town. The winning ticket will be drawn on at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 27 at the conclusion of the 37th Annual Kent Pumpkin Run. Information is available at  kentmemoriallibrary.org. Ticket holders need not be present to win.

Tickets may also be purchased by sending the Library a check with a self-addressed stamped envelope addressed to: Kent Memorial Library Car Raffle, P.O. Box 127, Kent, CT 06757, and the raffle stubs will be mailed back to you.  Please be sure to include your phone number. We must have it to complete the raffle ticket. The “car guys” will take the Mini Cooper to several events around Litchfield County over the summer to stimulate additional raffle sales.

The Kent Memorial Library launched its annual car raffle nine years ago and has always made popular selections — last year’s 2001 bright red Chevrolet Corvette and classic vehicles such as a 2000 Porsche Boxster, 1952 MG TD Roadster ,1953 MG, a 1931 Chevy coupe and a 1967 Jaguar XK-E coupe, along with sought-after cars such as a Prius hybrid and a Mini Cooper. Proceeds go to support the Library’s operating budget and make an important contribution since the Library is responsible for raising over 70% of its annual budget.

The Kent Memorial Library’s mission is to enrich the lives of individuals and the community by providing materials, programs, and services to encourage reading, learning and imagination.

The Kent Memorial Library is located at 32 North Main Street, Kent, Connecticut.
