The life of a big city mayor in Connecticut can be a gauntlet of budget negotiations, union contracts, infrastructure woes and tax headaches. Today, for a few minutes, Waterbury Mayor Neil O’Leary had the good fortune to perform a ribbon cutting ceremony at the new Froyo World on West Main Street, and afterwards to taste a small sample of the frozen yogurt. O’Leary eyed the ten flavors before swooping in for a few swirls of Dutch Chocolate. Afterwards, he said he now knows why his daughter Maggie has already eaten at Froyo World eight times, “it’s delicious.”

Mayor O’Leary teased Lynn Ward of the Chamber of Commerce for making a healthy non-fat choice.
