New Opportunities, Inc. announced today that it will be holding Mayors for Meals Day as a part of its March for Meals campaign. The event will take place on Wednesday, March 20th.
To date, nine elected officials have committed to participate in the event to show their support for our community’s homebound seniors. They include:

Edmond Mone, First Selectman, Thomaston, CT
Patricia Murphy, Mayor, New Milford, CT
Gerald Stomski, First Selectman, Woodbury, CT
“We are excited about having a number of elected officials participate in our Mayors for Meals Day event, and strongly encourage more to join in this initiative. Their strong voice in the community will help gain much needed visibility for home delivered meal services,” said Lisa LaBonte, Senior Nutrition Director.
Mayors Deliver Meals is a national campaign initiated by the Meals on Wheels Association of America (MOWAA), which seeks to raise awareness of senior hunger and to encourage action on the part of the local community.
