The Law Offices of Carter Mario Injury Lawyers is pleased to announce the 2013 Arrive Alive Scholarship Program. The Arrive Alive Scholarship program is a combination effort to assist students going onto college financially, but also to help make teens aware of the real dangers of drunk driving and distracted driving.
Each applicant will be asked to prepare a presentation on making the right choices while behind the wheel, focusing on the dangers of distracted driving by teens and drunk driving. Connecticut’s Injury Lawyer, Carter Mario and his staff will judge the presentations, a combination of Videos (six scholarships will be awarded in this category); Graphic Presentations (two scholarships will be awarded in this category); and Other Presentations- consisting of Essays, Brochures, Booklets, or Songs (two scholarships will be awarded in this category). The statewide firm will award $1,000 a piece to (10) ten high school seniors in the state of Connecticut attending a four-year college or university in the fall.
Carter Mario Injury Lawyers and the law firm’s community relations arm, CarterCares, is dedicated to helping individuals, especially youth, in the state who have been affected by injury due to negligence. The firm is also concerned with the prevention of accidents and the safety of others before personal injury even occurs.
“As we celebrate our 8th year of supporting the academic excellence of Connecticut’s youth and encouraging our young people to make smart decisions while behind the wheel, our goal remains the same,“ says firm President & CEO, Carter Mario. “If we can help to save one life, it is worth it. This scholarship program is our firm taking a stance on distracted driving and alcohol abuse by our state’s teens.”
The focus of the Arrive Alive Scholarship presented by Carter Mario Injury Lawyers is the only scholarship program of its kind in Connecticut. Since the program’s inception in 2006, Carter Mario Injury Lawyers has awarded over $64,000.00 in scholarship money to 63 graduating high school seniors in Connecticut. In 2012 the firm increased their efforts to put an end to distracted driving in Connecticut, by launching the “Stow Before You Go” anti-distracted driving public service message campaign. The campaign is supported through a robust bus ad campaign, billboards, and online, via the website www.StowBeforeYouGo.com.
Connecticut high school seniors interested in the scholarship can obtain the application by visiting www.GetCarter.com and downloading a copy, or by visiting their school’s guidance department or guidance counselor. All entries must be postmarked no later than Monday, March 25th, 2013 to qualify for the scholarship.
