The Sisters to Sisters Book Group will discuss Sinners & Saints by Victoria Christopher Murray and ReShonda Tate Billingsley Monday, January 7, 2013 Board Room of the Silas Bronson Library, 267 Grand Street, at 6:00 pm. The bestselling and award-winning novelists revive their favorite heroines Jasmine and Rachel in a story that will delight their legions of fans.  Just when the characters have overcome their scandalous and drama-filled pasts, both plot to aid their husbands in competing for the presidency of the American Baptist Coalition. Winning it may require them to “get down and dirty” – reverting to their old tricks.   As they ready to fight to the finish, the current first lady of the coalition steps in, a woman bigger, “badder”, and more devious than either of them!!!

Local author John Jones will present a Book Talk and Signing of his new release Captain Jack for President, the story of an ordinary man with an extraordinary dream in the auditorium of the Silas Bronson Library, 267 Grand St. Wednesday, January 16th at 6:30 p.m.
The novel centers around Captain Jack Harper, a highly respected Navy veteran who has retired in Jonesport, Maine. As he enjoys a cup of joe at Moby’s Restaurant, the locals discuss the upcoming presidential election. When speculation about Captain Jack for president is overheard by the chair of the Constitution Party, Captain Jack is urge to throw his hat into the ring.  The ensuing candidacy becomes fraught with frustration and uncertainty. Tested at every turn, will Jack survive with his strength and integrity intact? Will he survive at all?  New to publishing, but not to writing, Waterbury resident John Joneswas born in Winsted on Nov. 22, 1962. Sharing his birthday with the anniversary of President Kennedy’s assassination sparked a persistent fascination for the presidency, so it was inevitable that he would write a novel with a presidential theme Jones’ works are as thought-provoking as they are entertaining.  The public is invited.
