Black Friday shoppers picking up books and Nooks® for their loved ones at the Brass Mill Commons Barnes and Noble Booksellers, 235 Union Street in Waterbury, on November 23, will have a chance to support the arts simply by beginning some holiday shopping.

The Waterbury Palace Theater is teaming up with the super store for an all-day “Black Friday Book Fair” spearheaded by the organization’s Volunteer Guard, from 7a.m. to 11p.m. A percentage of all in-store and online purchases made at www.bn.com with a Palace Theater Barnes and Noble Book Fair voucher or with the theater’s book fair identification number, 10940864, during check-out that day will be donated to support the theater’s various after-school education programs. For shoppers hoping to avoid the Black Friday crowds, the Palace’s Book Fair fundraiser will continue online through Cyber Monday and until Wednesday, November 28.  Vouchers are available in person at the theater’s box office, 100 East Main Street in Waterbury, or online at www.palacetheaterct.org.

Throughout the day, the Palace Volunteer Guard will provide free holiday wrapping to customers at the Waterbury store with donations directly benefitting the theater. Customers will also be able to enter a raffle to win tickets to the theater’s  upcoming presentations of the interactive stage stow Dixie’s Tupperware Party and the Webster Bank Broadway Series presentation of West Side Story. At 6:30p.m., a special guest storyteller from the theater will host an all-ages story time for children and families in attendance.
