A local entrepreneur is placing his bet on downtown Waterbury. At a time when Waterbury is eager to revive downtown with new business and development, Waterbury native George L. Ricciardi is ready to invest in the future of Waterbury.
Ricciardi hopes his newest ventures, Tryst Lounge and The Loft, will fill a niche that is missing in Waterbury nightlife. Tryst Lounge is an upscale cocktail lounge that features an eclectic rotating wine list, selection of fine scotches, and craft beers and spirits. The Loft is a casual pub and eatery that offers a full variety of beer, wine and spirits, along with a menu that puts a fun twist on traditional pub fare. “We wanted to create something different than your average local bar. I think people will find a comfortable, relaxing atmosphere at Tryst Lounge and The Loft unlike anywhere else in the area,” commented Ricciardi.
Tryst and The Loft are located in the heart of downtown Waterbury at 34 Brook Street, the former home of the Palace Supper Club. Just steps from the Palace Theater, Tryst is nestled on the first floor street level, and The Loft is on the second floor, boasting a unique covered outdoor deck.
Ricciardi, who also owns The Hills Restaurant, is eager to begin his new venture downtown. “I think downtown Waterbury has a lot of potential and I’m excited to be a part of its revitalization and future,” says Ricciardi.
A public grand opening celebration is planned for Friday, November 16th at 8pm. The event will include live entertainment, drink specials, and food specials.
