The Alliance Française of Northwestern Connecticut (AFNWCT) is hosting a Soirée Beaujolais wine tasting party Friday, November 16, at 5:30 p.m. at a private home in Southbury. Jim Frey of Walker Road Vineyards in Woodbury will give a presentation on wines; desserts and hors d’oeuvres will be served. Admission is $15. On Saturday, December 1, the AFNWCT will host a Fête de Noël Canadienne from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Woodbury Senior Community Center, 265 Main Street South, Woodbury. A typical French Canadian Christmas meal will be served, followed by a Christmas concert by the popular French Canadian singer Josée Vachon. Ongoing programs sponsored by the AFNWCT include a Café et Conversation group that meets alternate Saturdays at The Barn Club, 558 Main Street South, Woodbury from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Readings and discussions on various topics are conducted in French.  Upcoming meetings are November 17, and December 15.
