Waterbury Police are investigating a bank robbery that occurred today at 3:20 pm at the Wells Fargo Bank located at 800 Wolcott Street. A male suspect handed the teller a note threatening that he was armed with a gun and demanding cash. The teller complied and handed cash over to the suspect (amount not being disclosed at this time). No weapon was displayed and no injuries occurred. The suspect then fled, possibly in a charcoal grey or black sedan with tinted windows. The suspect was described as a white male in his mid-twenties, 5’6” to 5’8” in height with brown hair. A surveillance photo is attached to this email. Anyone with information is asked to call the Waterbury Police. Tips can be called to Crimestoppers at 203-755-1234 and cash rewards will be given for information that leads to an arrest.
