After a two year lull the Waterbury Greenway project re-emerged into the public spotlight during the Waterbury On Wheels event on the Green September 23rd. The project has been bogged down in tedious contract negotiations which are now approved by the city, the state of Connecticut and RBA, the NYC based firm that will design phase 1 of the greenway in the south end of Waterbury. The big question on many people’s minds is when can they use the new greenway. Project manager Sal Porzio said that construction should be completed by 2015. The project includes Platt Park and a greeway from the Naugatuck town line to the Eagle Street Bridge. Photograph by John Murray
