Join the Waterbury Neighborhood Council and the Waterbury Fireman’s Historical Society this Sunday, August 26th, 2012 from noon till four for an afternoon of fun and surprises. There will be live bands, kids activities, food and craft vendors, and the fifth annual chili cook-off.

   Hosted by the Waterbury Fireman’s Historical Society to benefit the Waterbury Neighborhood Council the Chili Fest is an afternoon of fun for the whole family. Located in the Historical Waterville Fire House at 1551 Thomaston Avenue, Waterbury and at the nearby Waterville Park you will have the opportunity to visit local business merchants, listen to great live music from The Maggie K Band – songs with a unique jazz/blues/bossa style and The Jugadelics- Your favorite Jug band  and best of all, be one of the judges in the exciting Chili Cook-Off. Many local, well-known chefs and restaurant owners prepare their most secret chili recipes and the public are the judges.
For just a five dollar donation you will taste all of the best chili’s Waterbury has to offer and cast a vote for your favorite! Winners will be announced after the end of the festival. Kids will have fun in Bounce Houses, try face painting and learn safety strategies from their local Firefighters demonstrating in the “Smokehouse”.

   Enjoy this last Sunday afternoon before school begins again and the quiet days of summer are behind us until next year.
