WTNH Channel 8 meteorologist Gil Simmons (pictured here) will be on location in downtown Waterbury on Thursday, June 28, 2012 for his summer series “On the Green with Gil.” The live broadcast will take place from 5 – 8 a.m.
Local Dunkin Donuts owner Liz Batista-Zappone indicated that they will be sampling complimentary donuts (while supplies last) for any spectators, and giving out coupons to be used at the Dunkin Donuts on South Main Street.
In addition to all the goodies, Gil will be interviewing local Alderwoman Lysa Margiotta to discuss the city of Waterbury’s beautification efforts and how Dunkin Donuts has been a contributing partner. Margiotta said, “The Batista Family’s Dunkin Donuts has been a wonderful partner in support of the Waterbury Litter Control and Beautification Commission.” The public is invited to attend and join in on this festive event.
