GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) is a federally-funded discretionary grant program designed to significantly increase the number of low-income students who are prepared to enter and succeed in college. NVCC will serve as fiduciary for Waterbury’s grant award. Funding was also awarded to the city of New Haven to partner with Southern Connecticut State University and the city of East Hartford to partner with Manchester Community College in these efforts.
