More than 75 Volunteers to Shave Their Heads at Event to Raise Funds for Kids with Cancer!

Waterbury firefighters will host a St. Baldrick’s Foundation head-shaving event to raise funds and awareness for life-saving childhood cancer research on Sunday, May 20. With a goal of raising $20,000 more than 75 participants have registered to shave their heads to prove that it takes everyone to help Conquer Kids’ Cancer!

Why all the shaved heads? St. Baldrick’s is a volunteer-driven charity committed to funding the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long and healthy lives. The Foundation hosts signature head-shaving events where volunteers collect pledges to shave their heads in solidarity with kids with cancer while raising money to fund childhood cancer research. The St. Baldrick’s Foundation funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government.

For more information, check out the event page on the St. Baldrick’s website.

Sunday, May 20 at the Waterville Fire House, 1551 Thomaston Ave, Waterbury
The event will start at noon and end at 6 p.m.
Head-shaving begins at 12:30 p.m.
