Sheridan Council is pleased to announce the winners of this year’s Knights of Columbus Essay Contest.

Participants were asked to write an essay on “The Responsibility of the Catholic Citizen in a Free Society”, and were entered into one of two categories, Grades 8-9, or Grades 10-12. The winning essays in each category received a $50 prize from Sheridan Council.

In the Grade 8-9 category the winner was Zackery Arroyo, a 9th Grade student at Sacred Heart High School.

In the Grade 10-12 category the winner was Gabriel Hamawi, a 12th Grade student at Holy Cross High School.

The winning essays have been forwarded to the State Council Contest. The winner will be announced at the State Convention on May 6th. Good luck to both of our winners!
