Jon Andersen will be the featured poet at the March 7th program of Calling All Poets (…and poetry lovers) series hosted by Victoria Muñoz in the auditorium of the Silas Bronson Library, 267 Grand St. at 6:30 pm
A former high school English and Special Education teacher, Andersen is currently an Assistant Professor of English at Quinebaug Valley Community College.
His books include a collection of original poetry, Stomp and Sing (Curbstone, 2005) and an anthology, Seeds of Fire: Contemporary Poetry from the Other U.S.A. (Smokestack Books, UK).
In 2008, he toured the United Kingdom with Martin Espada to promote their simultaneous United Kingdom releases. Andersen is now working on a collection of linked short stories, one of which will be published in an anthology tentatively titled Fresh Flash: Short Short Fiction for Young Adults.
The program will also feature an open mic segment, for which sign-up begins at 6:20p.m.
Like all library programs, this program is free and open to the public
