Post University has named Randy Streck, Ph.D., Assistant Academic Program Manager/ Laboratory Manager for the school’s Biology Program.  In this new position at the University, Dr. Streck will teach biology courses, maintain Biology and Chemistry laboratories and laboratory equipment, implement and maintain laboratory safety standards, and manage work study students in the lab.

Prior to joining Post University, Dr. Randy Streck was the Senior Principle Scientist at Pfizer, where he worked on Developmental and Reproductive Toxicology, Drug Safety Research and Development.  While at Pfizer, he taught, mentored, and supervised scientists, technical staff and undergraduates in numerous laboratory techniques, including those to assess rodent malformations induced by drug treatment, to clearly isolate specific organs for gene expression analysis, and to correctly map cell types expressing important genes in tissue sections analyzed by an in situ hybridization.  Before joining Pfizer, Dr. Streck was a Principal Investigator/ Research Biologist for the National Center for Toxicological Research (a branch of the FDA).

Dr. Streck has a great deal of experience in all aspects of setting up and running a laboratory.  In his career, he has created two profitable and productive labs out of empty rooms.  He has a B.S. in Biochemistry from Harvard and a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the University of California, Berkeley.  He also completed two post doctoral fellowships in Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of California, Berkeley, and Columbia University, respectively.

Dr. Streck lives in Deep River, Connecticut.
