Naugatuck Valley Community College hosted the second annual Girls and STEM Expo, an all-day immersion for middle school females in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math. The event was sponsored by the Connecticut Women’s Education and Legal Fund and G2O – Generating Girls’ Opportunities.

The College registered approximately 90 students to participate in team building activities such as an egg-drop challenge and workshops that explore nursing careers, environmental science, physics, forensic science, engineering, aviation and robotics. Workshop for teachers to discuss opportunities for generating female interest in STEM careers at the middle school level were also held at the event.
