This week, fifteen Stone Academy Waterbury Campus Patient Care Associate students are getting a real-life lesson in serving people in need, as they assist the United Way of Greater Waterbury with its annual Thanksgiving turkey dinner distribution.

There are growing opportunities for Patient Care Associates at hospitals and health care facilities across the State. The Stone Academy students participating in the Thanksgiving outreach are learning nursing skills plus basic medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and home care techniques. This program includes courses EKG technology, phlebotomy, CPR, first aid and emergency procedures.

“At Stone Academy, we are big believers in giving back to the community,” says Joseph Bierbaum, Corporate Admissions and Marketing Director. “We deliberately create a campus culture of volunteerism. Throughout the holidays and year-round, our staff and students regularly volunteer their time and expertise to help others.” For details, please call toll-free 1-800-585-1315 or visit www.StoneAcademy.com.
