Sampson, Markley to hold informational hearing on executive orders #9 & #10
WHO: State Rep. Rob Sampson, State Sen. Joe Markley, guests and public
WHAT: Informational hearing on Gov. Malloy’s Executive Orders #9 & #10
WHEN: November 10, (Thursday) beginning at 10 am –
WHERE: LOB, room 1A 300 Capitol Ave., Hartford
WHY: Gather information and present it to legislators, the Governor and Council for those with Disabilities
Background:
State Rep. Rob Sampson and state Sen. Joe Markley will give Connecticut residents an opportunity to comment on recent executive orders signed by Governor Dannel Malloy.
The controversial orders pave the way for personal care attendants and child care workers to form unions, and to negotiate salaries and benefits with the state without the consent of those with disabilities.
Rep. Sampson and Sen. Markley question the Governor’s constitutional authority to issue these orders.
On November 10 the public can weigh in on the subject.
Invited speakers will discuss how Executive Orders #9 & #10 affect workers and people with disabilities who are the employers. Speakers will also tackle how these executive orders could impact the personal care attendant and child care industries, as well as Connecticut’s overall business climate.
The public is invited to attend and sign up to give their comment as well. Sign up is in the lobby of the LOB.
