On Sunday, October 16th at 5:00pm Tournament Night at Towne (TNT) is holding its second annual charity tournament at Towne Billiards, 17 Marne Street, Hamden. Last year’s event was to benefit Domestic Violence Services of Greater New Haven. This year’s beneficiary will be The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp in Ashford, CT.
The recipient of this year’s TNT Charity Event was chosen because 2011 marks the 50th
anniversary of the classic film “The Hustler” starring Paul Newman. Mr. Newman founded
The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp in 1988 to provide a free of charge camp experience for
children with serious and chronic illnesses.
The 8-Ball Tournament is a single elimination, handicapped event organized and directed by Greg Mouning. There will be a cash payout to the first place winner with the proceeds to support The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp. Other activities include a silent auction, Felson Challenge Matches, baked goods sale, swing dance demonstration and screening of the movie “The Hustler”.
If you don’t wish to participate in the tournament, please come anyway to cheer on the players and enjoy the other festivities and to support this worthy cause.
