Abolition of the death penalty will be the subject of the weekly service at the Mattatuck Unitarian Universalist Society, 122 South Pomperaug Avenue in Woodbury, CT. The service is Sunday, September 18th and starts at 10:30 am.  John Cummings, past president of the Connecticut Network to Abolish the Death Penalty, will speak about his journey in the movement. He will be joined by Robert Nave, regional death penalty coordinator, northeast United States-Amnesty International. Nave is also a member of the board of directors of the  CNADP. “This is a joint service between the Connecticut Network to Abolish the Death Penalty and Amnesty International… There will be a discussion about the impending execution of Troy Davis, who is considered innocent,” said Cummings. The public is welcome.
