The Waterbury Public Works Department is staging the first city wide “e-waste” collection event, Saturday, September 17th. from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Kennedy High School. 

Acceptable items are – monitors. computers, laptops, printers, fax, scanners, keyboards, mice, power cords, vcrs, dvd, dvr,pda, portable digital music players, cell phones and telephone equipment

Unacceptable items are – freon devices (air conditioners, humidifers), light bulbs, batteries and smoke detectors

  WeRecycle! of New York will strip the metals and plastics out of the e-waste and recycle them. As of February it is illegal for Connecticut citizens to throw e-waste into the  the trash. Items have to be re-cycled. There is no fee for bringing e-waste to the collection site.
