Waterbury police officer Mike McKenna has made it to the comedic final four at the Empire City Casino in a “Battle of the Badges Showdown”, this Thursday, September 8th.
It has come down to four. The Tri-State area’s Bravest and Finest will square off on Thursday, September 8, at 7:00 pm at Empire City Casino at Yonkers Raceway in the Good Time Room in the Finals of a month-long comedy spectacular. Billy Bingo, a retired FDNY firefighter who hails from Long Island; Mike Guida a police officer from Buchanan, NY; Mike McKenna, a policeman fromWaterbury, Connecticut; and Bruce Gutnick, a FDNY-EMS squad member from the Bronx, comprise this unique “Final Four.” WHUD Radio is the sponsor of the competition.
The September 11th Memorial Fund in New York City will benefit, with a total donation of $4,000 expected from the proceeds from the $5 cover charge for the qualifying rounds and final. So, two Policemen take on two Firefighters for bragging rights in the matchup to see which badge can bring the most laughs. The winner will receive a donation to the charity in their name, a Yonkers Raceway harness race named in their honor, dinner at Empire Terrace Dining Room overlooking the track, and a booking at a future Empire City Comedy Night.
