The Mattatuck Museum welcomes the Pierce Campbell Jazz Trio to TGI Third Thursday on September 15, 2011 from 5:30 – 7:30pm for an evening of great American jazz.

The Pierce Campbell Jazz Trio features Pierce Campbell on guitar and vocals, acoustic bassist Tony Pasqualoni and Loren Evarts on keyboard. Performing jazz classics from artists like Duke Ellington, Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett along with more modern tunes from Stevie Wonder and Nora Jones and even some originals, they have an energy and sound that engages all audiences. With excellent vocals and strong improvisation, you’ll get the best jazz has to offer with this dynamic trio.

Pierce Campbell was appointed the Connecticut State Troubadour for 2007/2008 by the CT Commission on Culture & Tourism and has been a full time musician for 20 years. Pierce and Tony perform with several other bands including The Funky Butt Jazz Band and the popular Irish group, The Kerry Boys.

Loren Evarts studied jazz piano with noted composer/pianist Anthony Davis. At the University of Bridgeport he studied jazz under Neil Slater, and composition with David Barnett. He subsequently received his Master’s degree in music education, taught for several public and private schools, and is now an instructor for five colleges. He is currently finishing up his DMA at Boston University.
