The Naugatuck River Revival Group is organizing a clean-up in the Naugatauck River Sunday, August 7th, from 9 am to noon. The area targeted for this low-river clean-up is between Platts Mills and Union City. Interested individuals or groups are encouraged to contact Sondra Harman at nrrg_sh@yahoo.com

This is not a party or picnic, just a down and dirty clean-up of a river that has been neglected for 150 years. The Naugatuck River is low in the summer, which makes it easier to remove tires, shopping carts and industrial debris that was swept down the river during the 1955 Flood.

Wear old shoes that can get wet. Gloves and crow bars will be provided. If you want to give something to the revival of the region’s greatest natural asset, meet at 87 Platts Mills Road along the Waterbury-Naugatuck town line.
