Girls Night Out
Are you or your women friends former members of Waterbury Girls Club or Girls Inc. in Waterbury?
Girls Inc. of Southwestern Connecticut (formerly Waterbury Girls Club) is seeking all women who are past members of either Waterbury Girls Club or Girls Inc. to attend Girls Inc. of Southwestern Connecticut’s “Girls Night Out” benefit event on June 10, 2011 from 6:00 to 10:00pm at the Courtyard Marriott in Waterbury.
“Girls Night Out” will be a fun-filled evening out for New Haven, Litchfield and Fairfield County women to enjoy dinner with friends, shopping at specialty vendor booths, and raffle prizes galore. Event proceeds will benefit Girls Inc. of Southwestern Connecticut’s unique development programs that inspire girls of all ages and income levels to be Strong, Smart and Bold (SM.)
Girls Inc.’s innovative identity development programs build the character and confidence of today’s girl – with a goal of empowered girls and an equitable society. Their “Operation SMART” (Science, Math And Relevant Technology) program launched their all-girl robotics team – Circuit Sisters – who placed second in the 2010 CT statewide robotics championship!
“The Waterbury Girls Club was the very first Girls Club in America – established in 1864,” says Anna Henry, Chief Executive Officer of Girls Inc. of Southwestern Connecticut. “We have a rich history and we invite all of our past members to celebrate with us and help new generations of girls benefit from the programs that helped make them strong and confident women.”
Women who are former Waterbury Girls Club and Girls Inc. members are asked to contact Girls Inc. of Southwestern Connecticut at (203) 756-4639 to arrange to attend the “Girls Night Out” event, and to receive future newsletters.
