River Adventure

The wildly popular canoe and kayak race from Waterbury to Beacon Falls will mark it’s fourth anniversary on May 7th when nearly 300 adventurous souls take the plunge into the Naugatuck River along Platts Mills Road in Waterbury.

Interested boaters are still encouraged to sign up at Connecticut Outdoors in the Oakville section of Watertown. Call Dave Faber at 1-860-274-6213 or e-mail him at david@4ctoutdoors,com

The race is open to amateurs and experts. The course is six miles long and ends in Beacon Falls where a festival of music and food add to the celebration.

The race begins at 11:30 at South Main Street and Platts Mill Road in Waterbury. Participants meet at 11 am for a safety meeting. Sign-ups can be accommodated on the day of the race, but individuals need to be on site at 9 am.

Proceeds from the race will be donated to the Naugatuck River Watershed Assocviation.
