Families seeking to foster and/or adopt children from foster care will attend a special “Weekend for a Lifetime” to expedite the licensing process. Over a three-day period beginning Friday evening, the families will receive training and make progress with other licensing requirements so that they can more quickly open their homes to some very deserving children in foster care.

Families who want to foster and adopt children will be greeted by leadership of the Department of Children and Families as they begin this concentrated licensing event this weekend.
WHEN/WHERE:
Friday, September 13 – Sunday, September 15.
Waterbury Marriott
This is a private event, not open to the public. Families participating in the event were chosen in advance due to an extensive assessment process.
There are many wonderful children in foster care who deserve a loving home. The families attending the “Weekend for a Lifetime” are in the process of getting licensed to become foster and adoptive parents, and this event will allow them to do so more efficiently and in a more timely manner.
