Join us on July 7th from noon to 5pm (rain date July 8th) to celebrate 225 years of Hopkins family ownership of the farm on Lake Waramaug. The Heritage Festival is a Colonial Era themed event with music and costumes representing the year 1787, when Hopkins ancestor, Elijah Hopkins founded the farm after returning home from serving in the Revolutionary War. Activities will include:
•         A Revolutionary War cannon (be there early to see and hear it start the festivities with a BANG!)
•         Colonial Era Parade
•         Proclamation of the Anniversary, honoring American Patriot, Elijah Hopkins
•         Refreshments and Baked Goods Available
•         18th Century Music by Hanford & Finlay, they will play Tavern Songs and a family program called “In the Good Old Colony Days”
•         Quilting, Spinning and Weaving, Candle Making, Rope Making, Blacksmithing, Kettle Corn and Open Fire Cooking  displays
•         Children’s Activities provided by the Charles Merriman Society of the Children of the American Revolution
•         Genealogy Research  provided by the Mary Floyd Tallmadge Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution
•         The Gov. Oliver Wolcott, Sr. Branch of the Sons of the American Revolution will debut their Living History encampment dedicated to the memory of Paul Everett  
•         Reenactment of the period - skirmish with British soldiers 
•         Colonial Era Arts and Crafts for sale
•         Food catered by The Hopkins Inn
