StayWell Health Care, Inc. has hired a new Primary Care Physician, Dr. Philippe Chain, MD. Dr. Chain comes to StayWell from East Hartford Community Healthcare, Inc. in East Hartford, CT, where he was a Primary Care Physician and Clinical Site Director of Manchester Community Health Care. Dr. Chain is Board Certified in Family Medicine and will be completing an additional Board Certification in Primary Care Sports Medicine in July of 2012. Dr. Chain received his Medical Doctorate from St. Matthew’s University in 2004 and did his residency through the University of Connecticut at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center.

Dr. Chain has also demonstrated a great devotion to health outside of his professional duties. He has volunteered at the Boston Marathon on the Medical Team and as a Track and Field Coach for the North Bay Down Syndrome Society Special Olympics. Dr. Chain is fluent in French, both written and spoken.

Says Dr. Chain, “Here at StayWell Health, there is a strong commitment to the community of Waterbury and especially to those of the underserved and underinsured. For these reasons, I feel that my values in medicine can be met at this organization.”

Dr. Chain joins a team of highly skilled clinicians at StayWell Health Care, Inc. that serves over 20,000 patients in the Waterbury area. As rising health care needs have persisted in Connecticut, and across the nation, the physicians at StayWell have continued to provide quality care to patients. In 2011 StayWell had over 83,000 visits from its many patients from the Greater Waterbury area.

StayWell Health Care, Inc. is committed to providing high quality, community health care and social services, including preventive medical, dental, and mental health services to the underserved population of the Greater Waterbury community. StayWell Health Care, Inc. has adopted a comprehensive, community based approach to serving people by providing education, advocacy, and bilingual/bicultural services. All patients are accepted regardless of their ability to pay or insurance status.
