NAACP Annual Freedom Fund Awards Dinner
The Greater Waterbury NAACP will host its 69th Annual Freedom Fund Awards Dinner on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. at the Courtyard Marriott Hotel in downtown Waterbury. Tickets are $60 per person.
This year’s theme is “Reforming Our Public Schools: Education is a Civil Right”. The distinguished keynote speaker, Dr. G. Duncan Harris serves as dean of student affairs at Manchester Community College.

Annette A. Burton, Au.D, (left) the Director of the Easter Seals Centers for Better Hearing, received national recognition from the American Academy of Audiology for her significant contributions to the profession of Audiology. The 2012 Presidential Award was presented to Dr. Burton during the association’s recent national convention in Boston.

Cherry Avenue and Maple Street in Waterbury with Kevin Taylor, senior project manager with the Waterbury Development Corporation. Mr. Roberti called attention to the sites on Earth Day, pointing to the need for cleanup and the opportunity for job creation that comes along with environmental remediation.
NVCC “Our Stories, Our Words” Dance~April 28
The Naugatuck Valley Community College Dance Ensemble and SGA Terpsichorean Club will present its annual spring concert, “Our Stories, Our Words: A Dance Concert,” at 8 p.m. on Sat., April 28, in the College’s Mainstage Theater, 750 Chase Parkway in Waterbury.
The evening will feature modern dance, music and readings from The Book Thief and The Lovely Bones. Fifteen dancers will perform fourteen pieces.
